TRADERS TWILIGHT TINSELTIME AT OXFORD small business event – JUST LAUNCHED!

One of Brisbane’s riverbend peninsulas spanning Bulimba, Hawthorne, Balmoral and Morningside has become one of Queensland’s most compelling small business success stories. Anchored by Brisbane City Council’s Bulimba District Neighbourhood Plan, the riverside urban village has grown strongly and now supports a diverse local economy of more than 4,000 small businesses across multiple industries, from shopfronts to home-based enterprises.

City leaders are building on this momentum by further activating the river and its peninsulas as major tourism hubs and lifestyle destinations. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has described the Brisbane River as “one of our city’s greatest drawcards,” advancing plans to deliver “bigger, better and more exciting river experiences for locals and visitors.” Read more: www.adrianschrinner.com.au/media-announcements/brisbane-pontoons-and-jetties-to-be-opened-for-tourism-opportunities/

Brisbane’s pontoons and jetties are being opened for greater tourism and hospitality use, creating new ways for residents and visitors to enjoy the river, while boosting opportunities for local small businesses. These initiatives highlight Brisbane’s unique lifestyle as a river and peninsular city, and strengthen connections across its riverfront communities.
